Chess Coaching in Hyderabad — In Person and Online

ChessPure Academy began as a single board in a Banjara Hills living room in 2010. Fifteen years later we coach over six hundred students across fifteen countries, but the founding studio is still in the same Hyderabad lane it started in. If you live in the city, you can study with us both ways: in person on weekends, and online during the week.

We teach the Stappenmethode — the Dutch step method used to train more than four hundred thousand chess students worldwide. The classes are small, the curriculum is written down, and every coach holds a FIDE rating you can verify on fide.com.

Why parents in Hyderabad choose ChessPure

Most academies in the city teach openings first because openings impress parents. We teach mating patterns first because mating patterns produce wins. The order matters more than the syllabus.

Our coach roster is capped at six weekly students per coach. We have not broken that rule since 2021. A capped roster is the only way a coach can remember your child's last loss when they sit down for the next lesson.

  • Coaches with FIDE ratings between 2180 and 2320 — verifiable, not marketing copy
  • Weekly written homework, with corrections returned within forty-eight hours
  • Internal rated tournaments every six weeks, hosted in the Banjara Hills studio
  • Mixed in-person and online options for families with weekday school commitments

What's included in a Hyderabad enrollment

Each enrollment includes weekly coach sessions, the appropriate Stappenmethode workbook, a custom puzzle calendar adapted to your last three losses, and access to our recorded lesson library. Tournament fees for our internal events are included in Volumes II and III.

If your child is preparing for a school selection trial or a state-level under-13 event, we add a four-week tournament-prep module at no extra cost. Parents receive a written progress note at the end of every month — not a generic report, but a paragraph naming the specific pattern your child has begun to recognise.

Who Hyderabad coaching is for

Children ages six and up who can sit with a board for thirty minutes are ready for Volume I. Older beginners — including adults rejoining after a school-time gap — start in the same volume but progress faster. We have a separate adult cohort that meets on Sunday mornings.

We do not promise rating numbers within fixed windows. We do promise that, within twelve weeks of joining Volume I, you will know what a fork, pin, and back-rank mate are by sight, not by memorised definition. That is the floor; the ceiling depends on how often you practise.

How to start

Book a free fifteen-minute trial through the admissions page. The first call is a chat — what you've played, what you've read, what frustrates you about the game so far. If you are a complete beginner the call is even shorter, because we mostly ask the parent.

After the trial, if it feels right, we recommend a volume and a coach. If it does not feel right, we will say so plainly — the academy has turned away families whose calendars or expectations did not match what we can deliver. That has not changed since 2010.
